ahh the lovely heat!

After receiving a bill for $300 + last winter we tried conserving as much as we could the next month and got an even higher bill, we immediately shut off the furnace and borrowed a couple of EdenPure heaters from my parents house. That cut the bill in half.... but still a little more spendy than we wanted..... so after searching all over Utah, Idaho, and Colorado for a good woodstove we drove to Ogden one afternoon and picked up this whippersnapper....... and so far we LOVVVVVVVVVVE it!!

Our Colorado Thanksgiving/Christmas.....

I told myself I'd get these posted before Christmas....... and I even have a few days to spare. We were able to go to Colorado to spend Thanksgiving with my family. We were there almost a week and had so much fun seeing everyone! Here is a million pictures of some of the things we did!...... Here's Brecklyn and her dog.... in the middle of nowhere.....such a long ride for her! I hate having to strap her into the carseat, I just want to get her out and hold her......but then I think what if.... and I leave her buckled up.My dad pulled his race car out for us to do a few laps in. If we lived a little closer I think Robert would be pretty tempted to get in on the racing action with my dad and Ren.We ate Thanksgiving at my Granma and Granpa Shawcrofts with lots of cousins that came into town too. It's been a while since we had a big thankgiving get together like that!.... sorry no pictures.....Every time we go somewhere I think "I'm going to get pictures of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE".......but then I don't.We shot a few of these down by our pond. I wish I had pictures of this action. We read a few good books.Me and Robert got up before 4 am just to do a little UNsuccessful Black Friday shopping for my Granma. Should have known it was gonna be crazy since Walmart is about the only place to go for black friday deals there. We made Little Ceaser's Pizza. Brecklyn is quite the little cook!
We played games including Twister, Phase 10 Twist, Pigsty, Uno Hearts and more!I LOVE this picture!!...I think it would make the PERFECT profile pic for someone's facebook!:)We played till we were too tired to play anymore!
The last night we were all there we set up a Christmas tree and read the Christmas story and exchanged gifts.

the End.

Let's try this again.....

We got a jump start on Christmas decorating this year..... or should I say I got a jump start..... Robert was a bit against anything Christmas before Thanksgiving.... (he caught me and Brecklyn jammin to Christmas tunes a time or two when he'd come home for lunch before this) ......but being the good husband/daddy that he is..... he said we could go ahead and he even helped a little too! I always love putting up the Christmas tree! Christmas has a special spirit about it that no other time of the year does.... but being the celebration of Christ's birth it most definately should be special!! This is our first Christmas as a little family here in our home........ and my first Christmas away from my Colorado home. I'm excited for it but I'm sure I'll be a bit homesick at the same time. We were able to spend about a week in Colorado for Thanksgiving, thank goodnesss(pictures coming soon)!! We got this tree and decorations while shopping the after Christmas bargains last year..... I think it turned out quite nice! Here's Brecklyn with her new "Baby's first Christmas" ornament from Grammy! Thanks again! We need to find a santa lap for her to sit in and get her picture taken to put in it.
Brecklyn helped decorate too!
Notice the lack of ornaments on the bottom quarter of the tree..... I put a couple there.... just so she can take them off.... as part of her daily routine which she takes seriously.

hmmmmmm...............

well i was GOING to update my blog and catch up on all the pictures we have .......but my computer isn't reading my card at the moment......so I will just pass on some wise words of advice I heard in church yesterday that I thought was really good!

Jesus said love Everyone..... NOT just those that you feel love you back.....for it is EASY to love them..... but EVERYONE even those that you feel have wronged you!

and in marriages and friendships Offend not, and BE NOT OFFENDED!!

and here is a quick story called "The Invisible People" by Lindy Heaton

I have come to the firm conclusion that there are invisible people that walk among us. They are everywhere. You know those spaces - those big, empty, awkward gaps that you can find between people in almost any public place you will ever go? Well that is where you can find the invisible people. They sit between us in our classes at school, in the cafeteria, on the bus, in the movie theater, at restaurants, at baseball games, at church, everywhere!

I became convinced that there are, in fact, invisible people while I was sitting on a public bus the other day on my way to school. There was an empty seat right next to me. Stop after stop, the bus continued to load new passengers. It was starting to get a little bit full, (except for the space next to me of course). So I squished a little closer to the bus window to make sure that there was a welcoming amount of space open for anyone to take. I even smiled at the new arrivals as they walked by, trying to be inviting. People would glance at my seat but pass right on by. Some of them would even rather stand and hold onto those little hand-holdy-thingies, than take the space next to me. The whole fifteen minute ride to the university my seat remained empty.

I sniffed testing the air. Maybe I stink. I don't think I stink. Do I?

It was at that moment that I became suddenly aware of the invisible people among us. I could only imagine what the newlyarrived passengers must have been thinking when they saw the large space next to me. Things like:

"Man, that's a really fat invisible guy!"

" I'd better not sit there. If I sit on that invisible guy's lap, he might have a conniption."

"Flip! There are so many invisible people on this bus! Now I'm going to have to stand!"

Since I've become acquainted with, and observed the invisible people, I have learned a few things about them. They are not very nice. It is their goal in life to accomplish only two things. One to sit between us so that we cannot get to know one another. And two: to multiply and create more invisible people to sit between us. The more that seperate us, the happier they become.

The invisible people have got us brainwashed. We are all convinced that we are supposed to give up every-other seat to one of their kind, and that it should be uncumfortable to sit next to, or talk to, and ESPECIALLY get to know someone who is not already an acquaintance. Nothing makes an invisible person more mad than when people talk to and get to know each other when there is supposed to be a seat reserved for the invisible, between them.

I have also discovered that there is a way to thwart their wicked plan to divide us. It is simply this. Steal their seats. Where there is a visible person, an invisible person is not. It is most important for us to understand that the invisible people can stay between us only as long as we allow them to. Why don't we make the invisible people stand on the bus and in other public places? I thinkn sitting next to a potential friend, even if it might be a little snug or awkward at first, is a lot better than having invisible friends. Let it be our quest to steal back the seats between us that have been, for far too long, inhabited by the invisible people.

STEAL A SEAT....... MAKE A FRIEND!..... theres always something to be learned from someone!

"All's I want for Christmas......

...... is my other front tooth!"........... okay so this is a little late...she's had this tooth for probably a couple weeks now. But now I can show you a picture where you can actually see it!
Look at these BLUE BLUE eyes!! The Dish guy yesterday asked who stole the ocean and put it in her eyes.... yeah kinda weird to hear from a stranger! But yes, they are BeAuTiFuL!!I love how she puts her feet up while she's eating!

I am amazed at how fast she learns, a few of her latest things are waving to Daddy when he goes to work, and when she goes to bed at night, just barely starting to sign more, pulling ALL the books and DVDs off the shelves, feeding mom cheerios, and giving Dad and Mom hugs and kisses.
