Brecklyn and especially Hayden get so excited when they hear Kelby wake up.  Hayden dashes in there to see her and tell her good morning, and today they decided to start her day with a good winnie the pooh book! I hope they are always good friends!

 We took these pics a few weeks ago one Sunday afternoon, after a little picnic in the mountains.  This spot is where my mom and her family used to stop for lunch when they were driving cows.  I love how in this one below, Kelby is leaning over on Hayden's shoulder.  She kept doing that off and on while we were taking their pictures. 

I'm so lucky to be their mama!!  I have lots more pics to post...... maybe sooner, maybe later!!

ATTI "TWO" DE

08.13.12   HAYDEN'S 2nd Birthday!!  It was kinda a busy day, but I guess what day isn't busy these days!   We started off the day with a breakfast of CHAMPIONS!!  Marshmallow Matey's!  Hayden was fun, she new it was HER birthday.  And you could tell she was feeling special, just not sure what all this 'birthday stuff' entails!

She got on her new birthday outfit after breakfast, then Grammy came and took her shopping!  She's been getting pretty opinionated on what she wants and what she doesn't want, so my mom thought it'd be fun to see what she picked.  Ya can't see it the best in this pic, but notice her cowgirl boots up to her knees!

I don't have a picture, but she came back wearing some cute pink horse pajamas.  Then after naps we went to Grammy's to ride horses.  We only rode for a bit before a storm moved in, so we decided to ride more another day.  For her birthday dinner we had mac and cheese, and pigs in a blanket, then me, Robert, and my uncle Mark rushed off to the courthouse for a hearing for our new house.  (more on that later)  Then we came back for more partyin.  Hayden wanted a tractor cake this year!  That girl LOVES tractors!  Lucky for her Gramps bought one this spring and she's got to go for a few rides.   Anyway, this is the tractor/cow/pooper scoopin cake I came up with!

 I have more pictures of the day on my mom's camera i think.   But here's one of this lil cutie from that day!  Doesn't she just make ya smile!!??

Kelby's Blessing Weekend

Kelby's baby blessing was 02.05.12.  Sad to say... i didn't get any pics of Kelby in her dress.... i thought of it plenty times.... i was either too tired, kelby hadn't had a bath, or i didn't have her dress ready.   lame mom i am!  BUT, it was a great weekend!!  Jeremiah and his family came to town, and Robert's mom, Nelda, and Darwin and Obie came, and we had a quick good weekend! MaryAnn, my mom, and I made cake balls for the Sunday lunch.  Thanks to everyone for all the help!

Alligator Farm

02.25.12

We made it to the Alligator Farm!! And the girls loved it!  There is lots more to see at the alligator farm than just gators, such as rabbits, snakes, spiders, fish, ostriches, lizards, llamas, crocodiles, and turtles like this one.

 Hayden thought he was pretty cool, but she did NOT want to touch him!

This alligator is the oldest (and biggest) one there.  I think his name was Morris.  He has been in many movies like Happy Gilmore, Dr. Dolittle 2, The Tonight Show with Steve Irwin, and many more.  When we were first looking we saw an alligator in the water and thought, 'that's not very big'.   Then we looked past the water and saw him.... yep, he's kinda extra large!

And this is all of us (can't see sleeping 2 month old Kelby), and Mr. Bo Mangles, the albino alligator!  Hayden was OWNING this alligator, the picture that they took that we coulda paid $15 for was sooo cute she was waving like she does this all the time.  Thanks Bo for the free day!

We all had fun, not sure how... because as soon as we got in the van and headed back, Brecklyn screamed the whole way to Alamosa about her ear.... so we made a stop at the convenient care clinic and sure enough she had an ear infection.  Poor gal!

Brecklyn's Birthday #3!!

There's gonna be some skippin back and forth and all around, to get caught up with my pictures on here!  So today we'll go back to 02-18-12 --Brecklyns 3rd Birthday.  My sister was in town, and we had planned on going to the Alligator farm, and Brecklyn was so excited! It was gonna be a free day for the albino alligator Mr. Bo Jangles.  Then, the day before, I rechecked their website and it had been changed to the following week, because they were all going to be in CO springs for some other event.   So instead, Brecklyn went horseback riding with Grammy, which I didn't get any pics of :(. Since we had planned on going to the alligator farm, Brecklyn wanted a crocodile or snake cake... I chose snake and made these lil slithering cakes!

We got her a dog.  A golden retriever named Beau.  And after all the craziness of getting him here from Utah (thanks again Jeremiah & Julie) that ended up not working out and we resold him about a month later.  So don't tell her, but we still owe her for that!  I think she had a fun day, and we still took her to the alligator farm... just a week later... pics to come!

About this BEAUTIFUL 3 year old of mine.....

• She adores her 2 sisters.
• Her favorite person in the world.... is her Grammy.  And she wants to do anything she's doing, and go anywhere she's going.
• Her favorite food is mashed potatoes.
• She likes nursery, but wishes Hayden was brave enough to go have fun with her.
• She's an early riser, always has been. 
• She wakes up somewhere between 5:30 and 6:30 and watches Netflix cartoons till the rest of us are up.
• She is a HUGE help to her mama!
• She loves the outdoors, dirt, water, horses, dogs, bugs, worms, and all!
• She loves to sneak outta the yard and go next door to my Grandma Shawcroft's house.
• She's the best at sharing!
• She's an awesome traveler.  A few weeks ago, we went to Cedar City(10 hrs) then SLC (4 hrs), then home (9 hrs) in less than a week.  Got home and a few days later she went to Mesa, AZ(10 hrs) with my mom and grandparents for my cousin Heather's wedding. 
• She learned about a month ago how to ride her lil trike we bought her for her 1st birthday!

We just love this girl so much!  We are so lucky (blessed) to have her in our family!!!

Bullet

My mom's dog Bullet was ranover while we were at lunch in town Friday  :(   He was sure a sweet little dog and Brecklyn loved him from the get go!  My mom got this little half Sheltie/half Pomeranian dog from my cousin Jennifer almost a couple years ago.  Here are a few pics when he was a puppy.  This summer Brecklyn had just started having my mom put him on a leash for him, and when she was done playing with him for a bit, she'd find a place to "hang him" aka tie him up.  He was such a good little dog for her to play with.

We didn't tell Brecklyn right away about it, because we haven't really had any talks to her about death, well after finding a dead mouse in the house Saturday afternoon, and she started asking questions about it all, we went ahead and told her about Bullet.  She didn't seem too sad about it.  She just said "and Jesus is up there pettin he'm?"  An hour or so later we went next door to my cousin Heather's wedding reception and Brecklyn told anyone that would listen about the dead mouse and Bullet getting ran over and going to Heaven.  After that she went with my mom and Robert to the races to watch my dad and Ren race their dwarf cars(Ren won it, $1500 and all).  On the way I guess she was talking about it again and they said something about the mouse and Bullet in heaven and she said "the mouse is not in Heaven, it is in the garbage can!"

the little things that make me smile!

here are just a few cute things that I don't want to forget....

• One day when we still lived in Cedar City, there were a couple road graders out smoothing our road.  Brecklyn was kinda afraid of them, so I explained to her that the road had gotten rough and the road graters were just fixing it for us so it would be smooth.  Ever since then she really likes "rodigators".   And then a week or so later we saw an airplane out crop-dusting the field right across the road from us, it was neat for us all to watch, especially where it was so close, and we could just watch out our front window.  Anyway, she told me "Look mom!  The airplane is fixing my sky!"
• My cousin Jennifer and her family came to visit last fall i think it was and Brecklyn had such a fun time with her little girls aka "her friends".   She still talks about them, and can't wait for when they come back to visit.  She has 2 little girls named Brooklyn and Abigail, who often is called by Abby.  Brecklyn was confused and still thinks that her 'friends' names are Abby and Abigail. I think because Brooklyn sounds so much like Brecklyn.  
• Hayden has become a little do it yourself girl!  And she means business!  She has kinda learned to put pants on by herself now, and so she thinks she needs to pick out which ones she wants, and if you try to help her she gets more and more mad, if she has pants half way on, and you start to help, she'll take them off and find another pair.  If you just get her dressed without letting her do it her way, she'll throw such a fit!  Reminder: she'll be 2 in exactly 2 months!!
• Hayden likes to whisper, and it really reminds us of the kid 'Brick' on the show "The Middle".  Sometimes she does it just like him, repeating what was said.  Gives us a good laugh.
• Hayden loves to read!   She'll sit by the entertainment center with all the books and just go through a whole pile of them one by one, page by page.  
• Kelby has the cutest laugh.  And she mostly only does it for Brecklyn, and Hayden.  If they run or crawl really fast up to her, she'll just laugh and laugh. When Brecklyn and Hayden are playing, Kelby can't take her eyes off of them, you can just tell she wants to be up playing with them too.  I can just see in her eyes how much she adores her big sisters!

Half Year's Resolutions!

hmmm where to begin??  There are things that come up daily that I want to put on here, because this is all I've got for a journal right now, so I really need to start keeping it more updated, because I love looking back on it all and I'm sure it will mean even more to me as time goes by!  I just wish my eyes were a video camera a lot of the time because these girls do so many cute and funny and sweet things I just want to remember it all forever!  But the way I'm going with this blog, I'm going to forget 99% of it in 5 years!  So...I've kinda decided to start some 'new years' resolutions, but instead of waiting for new years, I'm going to start now!  My other goals I will keep to myself for now, but this blog is one of them.  I'm going to try to update weekly at the least!   Should do daily like my cuz Jen!  I don't know how she does all that she does in her days.  For me, lately if one of my options is sleep, that's the one I choose.  If one of my options is hold Kelby, that's the one I choose.  So you'd think I spend alotta time sleeping, and holding Kelby..... not really. Anyway, here it goes!

Someday.....

i will catch up on this blog..... in the meantime i think i'll just hold this little sleeping girl that went from 0 to almost 6 months in an instant!

the rest of my days are filled up with phone calls and errands to straighten out things with a house we are in contract to buy, cooking for 5, cleaning up after 5, playing with my 3 favorite girls in the world, visiting grandparents next door and at the nursing home, visiting and doing laundry at my mom's and whatever else we decide to do!  Simple, yet so crazy, but i love it!!

Chip n Dale

When we were younger, my 'little' brother, Ren, and I were nicknamed "Chip" and "Dale".  'Supposedly', we got into mischief and such together often enough to get the nicknames.  Sometimes, watching Brecklyn and Ren's son Junior play together kinda makes me feel like I'm able to go back in time and watch our younger selves. They're quite the pair.  Junior talks some pretty good jibberish, and Brecklyn responds like she knows what he's saying all the time. I had Brecklyn and Kelby at the doctors last week and the nurse asked her if she had any other sisters at home, and she said "Yes, Junior and Hayden."

Blankets

• Brecklyn is attached to this ribbon tag blanket thing that I made, it was actually supposed to be a pillow, but it never got stuffed.  She calls it her "Tiny".
• Tiny has feelings.
•  Tiny does NOT like to be hot.  So much so that Brecklyn sometimes puts 'her' in the freezer or outside to cool off.  Or she's even got out of bed and turned the thermostat all the way down on their bedroom heater, in the middle of winter, JUST so tiny doesn't get hot.
• Brecklyn is working on teaching tiny how to walk, and jump, AND fly!
• Tiny is a necessity at naptime and bedtime, UNLESS it means having to leave Grammy's house to get it and napping at home instead.

• Hayden is also attached to a blanket that my mom made, and she calls it "kuh".  Kinda sounds like she's gasping for air the way she says it.
• 'Kuh' goes everywhere that girl goes!
• Hayden loves to read, and she'll often bring you a book to read with her, then every time once you get started, she remembers she has to go get her 'kuh'.

Sooo in love....

hard to believe how much your heart can grow in an instant!  Not only for each new little one, but for my wonderful husband and our Heavenly Father too!  I cannot express how blessed we feel!
