3 Good Men

There are three men in my family who have had birthdays this last week and I've just been thinking about them and how lucky I am to have them in my life. First was my Grandpa Shawcroft his was on the 21st. He is so good to my grandma and I love being around him. He's so patient and caring and a hard worker. I never hear him complain about much. I love to hear his stories of growing up, chasing cows, and being in the military. He is such a great example to me and I love him dearly!!!The second is my dad and his birthday was on the 26th. I had planned on calling him around 6 when I thought he might be on his way home from work, but instead he called me so I could wish him a happy birthday! okay that's not really why he called.....but I do love when I get phone calls from him in his spare time just to see what's going on in the Fobert house. I could go ON and ON in all the ways I appreciate and look up to my dad. He has done SOOO much for me and taught me so much, I could never thank him enough!! He likes to do any little thing he can to make my mom happy. He is an EXTREMELY hard worker, and doesn't enjoy too much plain ol idle time. Don't get me wrong, he knows how to have fun..... just doesn't like to sit around doin nothing. I miss the individual camping trips he used to take me and my siblings on. He knows how to fix anything, I'm sure of it!.... from jewelry to breakfast to cars to hurt feelings to...... well you name it! I love his sense of humor, and his stories from growing up..... hopefully my kids don't give me grief like he did his mother :) haha. But he sure has some good stories to tell from it all!! He's always quick to help anyone in need. I love how well him and Robert get along and I feel so VERY lucky to call this man MY dad!

The third is my younger brother Ren and his birthday is today. We were always buddies when we were little, my parents called us chip n dale, because we were always into something. Growin up I always thought he was quite the guy. I remember sticking up for him on the playground at school when some kid tried pickin on him. I don't ever really remember not getting along with him. We've had good times farming and racing. We were able to go to a semester of college at BYU-Idaho and take some fun classes together before he went on his mission to Brazil. He's so patient, fun, smart, athletic, and fun to be around.

Writing this brought out a bit of emotion in me.... and if ya know me.... I'm not very emotional.... maybe it's a mom thing. These are all men of integrity who would stand by their wives and beliefs through hell, rain and fire. I miss them all and wish they lived closer, but am so greatful that I do get to see them fairly often.

Cool, I've enjoyed catching up with your blog and HOLY COW your "baby" is like not one anymore...how did that happen?! Oh, the time thing, I hate that :)We invested in a wood stove ourselves, there is NOTHING that can compare the the real heat from a fire. (Who ever thought we'd need one in this hot place, but hey.) Hope you guys are doing well!

Kevin agrees with you. He says "Scott can fix anything."
